Spring Update

Spring Update

We are delighted to announce positive developments at the club which demonstrate we continue in our pursuit of providing a first class and inclusive footballing experience for all. We are as motivated as ever for the upcoming season and look to start where we left off.

New Reserve Team Head Coach

We are delighted to announce and welcome Ben Dudley (pictured above) to the club as Reserve Team Head Coach. He will join the current reserve team management structure of Alun Griffiths and Leigh Ashman.

Ben joins the club from BTM United where he has been influential in the structure of the club. This appointment will strengthen the partnership between the Bluebirds and BTM United, having spent a number of years working in their junior section.

Ben holds a UEFA B licence and is a University of South Wales graduate in football coaching. He is currently undertaking his MSc in sports coaching and leadership at USW.

We all welcome Ben to the club with open arms and feel this appointment will further strengthen the coaching structure with our reserve team, ahead of the upcoming league campaign in the Ardal Reserve league.

Community Star Awards

We are delighted to have received a Community Star award in March from the Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen Community Council for our work in the local community during the pandemic. Our work has included the provision and donation of PPE to Cymru Care, raising £1,500 for the Aneurin Bevan UHB and food donations to The Care Project.

New Addition to our Committee

Simon Grist has joined the committee to help us with creating links between Trethomas Bluebirds and BTM. Simon will also be providing the senior team management with analytical assistance. We are delighted to have Simon on board!
